The Korea Enterprises Federation (KEF) organized the third Korea-China Business Leaders’ Meeting in Shanghai, aiming to bolster economic collaboration between Korea and China and identify new growth opportunities. This initiative was co-hosted with the China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations (CICPMC) on the 7th, drawing participation from over 50 business leaders and officials, including KEF Chairman Sohn Kyung Shik and Bank of China Chairman Ge Haijiao.

During the meeting, there was a mutual consensus on the necessity to enhance cooperation in emerging industries such as artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors, particularly amidst increasing global uncertainties. Chairman Sohn emphasized the potential for both nations to secure a competitive edge in the global market by joining forces in these new sectors, which also include batteries and future mobility. He further expressed the need for governmental support through improved regulations and expanded policies.

In continuation of these discussions, the Korean delegation planned to meet with Gong Zheng, the Mayor of Shanghai, on the 8th, to explore further avenues for deepening economic ties. This collaboration signals a strategic effort to strengthen bilateral relations and adapt to evolving global economic landscapes.
